This is an example of using the _frame feature, but leaving a layer that seems to be inside the _frame fixed in it's position. This is a common design element for CMS based sites and even HTML sites that have a sidebar with menus or ads that you want to stay in place, and a _frame that you want to expand with the primary content on the page.

The trick is to put the sidebar (or whatever layers that you want to stay fixed in the _frame) inside a special _empty layer that sticks outside of the boundries of the _frame. For example on this page there is a layer called 'cool trick_empty' that sticks out of the _frame layer but just a little bit. Then the left_text layer is inside that. This is a handy trick for psd2css Online that is documented here: 'When is a Layer Inside another Layer?.

You can see what I mean in the PSD used to make this page: frame-with-fixed.psd

You can see the _frame in action too here on this page - click on the 'add content' button at the upper right and some content will be added to this DIV. You can see that the _frame expands and that the footer gets pushed down as you would expect. And that the sidebar stays right where we want it. Cool, huh?
