I am trying to learn web design, but its not something i'm picking up quickly.
i found psd2css and i thought great, just what i'm looking for, since i know photoshop.
I have 2 problems,
1. could be a simple answer, Does psd2css recognise LAYER STYLES, because when i use any layer with a layer style i get a while box come out on the ouput file images?
2. I am trying to make a gallery. i watched the training video and followed it, and it looks easy. famous last words. Been on it for hours now and cant see my error.
I create a folder called gallery for example
Place a PSD file called gallery1.psd in that folder with 3 pics inside
it. 1.jpg, 2.jpg 3.jpg at about 400K per pic.
Also i place thumb_1.jpg, thumb_2.jpg and thumb_3.jpg of about 13kb in the same folder (unsure of whether i do this or not)
I run psd file through converter, and move the result contents back into the root of the gallery folder.
When i run the html file on my localhost pc, i get the webpage up but nothing is happening. (tried uploading it also same result)
I have also downloaded the jquery-lightbox plugin, but not sure what to do with it, it doesn't say in the video tutorials?
the output folder has something like this in.
layer-0 to layer-06.png
jquery.lightbox-0.5.js
please, next loading, close.gif
jquery.lightbox-0.5.css
can anyone please shed any light on my issue?
thanks
Mike
Keh
i seem to have done it!
Done nothing different to yesterday apart from registering for this site, and retrying it.
must be a coincidence, surely!
Still would like an answer to layer limitations though. thanks
Hi Vertigo - I'm glad you
Hi Vertigo -
I'm glad you got the lightbox feature working - that's one of my favorites.
Yeah that registering for the site is important. Unregistered users don't get the really cool features.
As for the styles on the layers:
You'll need to take one last step before converting a PSD file with styles on the layers. You need to rasterize those layers. There's actually a couple ways to do it, but I prefer making a new empty layer just below the one I need rasterized, selecting both layers, right clicking on the new one and choosing 'Merge Layers'. The same goes for using the layer opacity slider. Here are some more details:

Thanks for using psd2css Online.
